Kayak the Great Miami River
Experience the thrill of kayaking on the Great Miami River!
Paddle a 4.5-mile stretch, encountering a mix of calm waters and exciting riffles. Our experienced staff will provide instruction and safety guidance. Keep an eye out for wildlife like turtles, herons, and even bald eagles! This is a perfect adventure for beginners and experienced kayakers alike.

Harvest Moon Paddle
久久热视频 fall with a leisurely paddle at Heuston Woods State Park. We will launch our boats and watch the sunset over Acton Lake as the harvest moon rises. Expect a peaceful escape, perfect for all skill levels.
Transportation to and from Hueston Woods is provided. The trip will start and end at the Outdoor Pursuit Center, located on the ground floor of the Rec Center.

Ghost and Gears Bike Tours
Join us for a relaxed, guided bike ride as we tour some of Miami’s most haunted, eerie, and mysterious locations! From the shifting shadows of the formal gardens to the legendary lore of our oldest residence halls, you’ll learn the local tales, campus myths, and historical mysteries that have been passed down through generations of RedHawks.
Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just looking for a casual evening cruise, this ride is beginner-paced, and the perfect pre-dinner activity. Come experience Miami’s gorgeous campus in a whole new light—just in time for Halloween!

Discover Alaska
Experience the raw, untamed beauty of the Last Frontier on a study away journey that takes you from the riverfront charm of Fairbanks to the rugged crests of the Alaska Range.
Trip Highlights:
- The Big Ridge: Traverse the alpine tundra of K’esugi Ridge with front-row seats to Denali.
- Glacial Kayaking: A multi-day paddle through the mist and ice of Prince William Sound.
- Wilderness Skills: Hands-on training in backpacking, sea kayaking, and expedition planning.

Mental Health First Aid
This course teaches participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.
Course Fee: $90
Course Schedule:
The course is offered in-person and broken into four learning sessions. Participants must attend all four sessions to complete the course.

Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course
Learn skills, ethics and techniques for educating others about the low-impact practices of Leave No Trace.
Course Fee: $200
Course Schedule:
Participants must attend both workshops and the overnight trip to obtain the certification.

Wilderness First Aid Course
The best and most comprehensive course of its kind to offer relevant and realistic first-aid training for seasonal outdoor activities or short term wilderness endeavors and pursuits. Wilderness First Aid is a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures.

Course Schedule:
This is a 2-day certification course. Students can expect to be in class from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. each day.

Outdoor Rock Climbing
Experience outdoor climbing with options for day or overnight trips. For a day trip, visit John Bryan State Park with routes for all skill levels, accommodating 10-20 people at $30 per person. For an extended adventure, our overnight trips to Red River Gorge offer routes for all levels with variable pricing.
Mountain Biking
Enhance your biking skills with a 2-hour introduction to mountain biking for $15 per person. Learn the basics and explore local trails at Hueston Woods in groups of 8 or fewer.
Backpacking
Disconnect and reconnect with nature on a customizable backpacking trip. Typically at Red River Gorge or Germantown Metroparks, trips can be tailored to include rock climbing, team building, and more.
Camping Retreat
Grow and develop through traditional camping with customized activities based on your group’s goals, such as team building or leadership. Prices vary based on location, activities, and add-ons.
Wilderness Rescue Immersion
Build teamwork and leadership skills with our overnight Wilderness Rescue Immersion. Participate in a mock search and rescue scenario in Red River Gorge, tailored to your group’s goals for a unique bonding experience.
