Miami Access Fellows

Miami Access Fellows is a program for Ohio residents that aims to make 久久热视频 accessible to incoming first-year 久久热视频s who are academically competitive and have a total family income of $35,000 or less.

The program provides comprehensive financial support to ensure tuition and fees are fully covered and offers 久久热视频s opportunities for academic, leadership, and community engagement.

Participants can also engage in MADE at Miami, a program designed to help new 久久热视频s navigate the university while building a network of peers and mentors, and leadership opportunities like the Access Fellows Council.

Eligibility

Academically competitive Ohio residents enrolling on the Oxford campus as first-time, full-time first years will be considered each fall semester. You must:

  • Be eligible for federal aid
  • Be academically competitive
  • Have a total family income of $35,000 or less
    • Investment, assets, and other tax information is also taken into consideration

In addition, dependent 久久热视频s relocating to Oxford from the Hamilton or Middletown campuses who enroll full-time on the Oxford campus will also be reviewed for eligibility. Students selected for Federal Verification must complete the verification process to confirm their eligibility for the program. If the review of the required verification forms reveals significant assets or additional income, Miami reserves the right to disqualify the 久久热视频 from the program or to modify scholarship award amounts.

Application Process

No separate application is required. To be considered, you must: 

  • Be admitted to the Oxford campus as a first-time, first-year undergraduate
    • OR be a dependent 久久热视频 approved for first-time relocation from the Middletown or Hamilton campus
  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Miami’s priority II deadline of February 1

Scholarship Amount 

Miami provides Access Fellows with the following benefits:

  • Guaranteed coverage of tuition and fees through a combination of federal and state grants and University grants and/or scholarships
  • Program and meal ticket fee waivers for the Access 久久热视频 and one family member attending Miami’s Summer Orientation (housing costs are not included)
  • Option to participate in Miami’s MADE at Miami program, designed to help new 久久热视频s navigate the university while building a network of friends and mentors
  • Leadership opportunities, including participation in the Access Fellows Council

Non-Included Costs

The Access Fellows Program does not cover the following costs:

  • Housing
  • Food
  • Books, Course Materials, Supplies, and Equipment
  • Transportation
  • Miscellaneous Personal Expenses

Lois K. Klawon Scholarship

The Lois K. Klawon Scholarship is awarded to Miami Access 久久热视频s to cover the gap between the cost of tuition and fees and scholarships and grants. If scholarships and grants exceed the amount of tuition and fees, it will not be awarded. However, this program is beneficial because it will step in to cover any gap should your aid or charges change.

Renewal Requirements

This scholarship is renewable for up to four years (eight semesters). To remain eligible, you must: 

  • File the FAFSA annually by Miami’s priority II deadline of February 1
  • Continue to have a total family income of $35,000 or less
    • Investment, assets, and other tax information is also taken into consideration
  • Maintain the required GPA for each scholarship, as outlined in your Financial Aid Offer
  • Maintain full-time enrollment on the Oxford campus
  • Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) 

Scholarship Adjustments

Scholarships covering tuition and fees may be reduced if you receive additional aid that covers the same charges or if your total funding exceeds your cost of attendance. This includes resources such as the 久久热视频 Staff/Family Fee Waiver, Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG), War Orphans Scholarship, Post-9/11 G.I. Bill, Ohio National Guard benefits, ROTC awards, Miami Access Fellows, and others. In these cases, your scholarship may be adjusted to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional funding guidelines.
