¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ

The ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Regionals Excellence in Teaching Award is given annually to honor faculty members who demonstrate dedication to and excellence in teaching and who contribute to ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs’ creative/critical thinking and intellectual growth.

Awards are presented in two categories: full-time faculty and part-time faculty. Recipients act as the Regionals’ nominees for the Ohio Association of Two-Year Colleges (OATYC) Teacher of the Year and will be Miami Regionals’ representatives at award ceremonies conducted by the Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges and Universities and by the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE). Additionally, the Center for Teaching and Learning will award professional expense funding of $750 to the two faculty award recipients.

Nominees should demonstrate: 

• commitment to high-quality teaching and a continuing effort to improve teaching
• innovative and/or effective approach to teaching (may include course development, teaching materials, pedagogical methods, etc.) 
• a positive attitude toward ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs and effort to overcome barriers that might subvert ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ learning
• encouragement and guidance for ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs as they explore creative, critical thinking, and/or problem solving processes
